Dr. Gemma Derrick, University of Bristol: „Evaluative cultures as tools for research change or undesired control?“
8. Januar 2024, 14:15 bis 15:45 Uhr (https://www.berlin-university-alliance.de/commitments/research-quality/events/2024/20240108-talk-research-assessment.html)
Dr. Gemma Derrick (University of Bristol) will talk about research evaluation or audit frameworks that are increasingly being implemented globally. The seminar will review the theory of behaviour change for research and the role of audit, and incentives in catalysing this change. The role, or lack of role, in such frameworks to achieve desirable behaviour, output and culture change will be discussed using examples of current and developing audit frameworks across the world, and the role of global governance of research as a barrier or facilitator of such change will also be discussed.
Gemma Derrick will speak at the BUA-seminar ‘So geht Wissenschaft – Aktuelle Diskussionen zu Open Science und Forschungsqualität’, hosted by Professor Martin Reinhart (Humboldt-Universität Berlin/Robert Merton Center for Science Studies).
The talk will take place in a hybrid setting. Participants are invited to join us either in person at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin or online.
