The Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS) at Technical University of Munich is inviting applications for two full-time positions,
2 Akademische Rätinnen/Akademische Räte a.Z. (Lecturer, TV-L A13, 100%, limited to 3 years with the possibility of renewal), in Science and Technology Studies (STS) and related fields to support and develop the Master’s program „Responsibility in Science, Engineering and Technology” (M.A. RESET). The envisaged start date 01.02.2019 or soon after. They are particularly interested in candidates with a teaching and research focus in one of the following areas: Robotics, Neurotechnology,Energy,Digitalisation,Mobility, Innovation Studies and Participatory Technology Design.
RequirementsApplicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree as well as relevant research and teaching experience at the interface of STS/social sciences and natural/engineering sciences. The ideal candidate will have a dual qualification that reflects training in both the social sciences/humanities as well as a STEM field. Solid knowledge in the field of STS, especially pertaining to questions of responsibility, are a strong advantage. Applicants should be motivated to teach and work independently and contribute to the RESET and MCTS communities, including proactively building linkages into other TUM departments (esp. natural science and engineering). It provides students with knowledge in selected STEM fields and trains them to systematically analyse questions or responsibility regarding the social, political, ethical and environmental impacts of science and technology.
