On the occasion of Alexander von Humboldt’s 250th birthday and in light of his groundbreaking KOSMOS lectures in 1827, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is staging the KOSMOS Conference in Berlin from 28th-30th August 2019.
The Geography Department and IRI THESys of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin invite scientists to contribute to the conference and to share their research on the sustainability transformation in the 21st Century. Contributions are welcome from all fields of research, and not limited to the six principal strands provided below:
Publics and ethics of sustainability
Democracy, governance, and societal conflicts in a globalized world
Economies beyond unlimited growth
The land and the ocean – from the global to the local
Urban and rural: a necessary partnership
Water and biosphere: preconditions of survival
We welcome all kind of scientific contributions to the expert forums (oral presentation), the related poster session (poster presentation of scientific work), or the bar camp & market place (please see https://www.kosmos.hu-berlin.de/de/program/schedule%20and%20formats

We kindly invite you to submit your contribution as an abstract (max. 250 words) and register for the conference online until 28th February 2019 (extended Call for Contribution).
