The University of Oldenburg’s Institute for Social Sciences, Professorship for Organisation & Innovation (Jannika Mattes), is offering at the earliest possible date and for the duration of at first three years a position as
Doctoral Researcher (PostDoc) (m/f/d)
full-time (39.8 hours/week), payment group 14 of the
General Framework Agreement on Public Services in the Federal States of Germany (TV-L).
The position is suited for part-time work.
The PostDoc will do self-reliant research in the field of organisational innovation. In relation to current research projects, especially the project REENEA (Regional energy transition in the wind energy sector), his/her project will combine organisational theory with transition research. This requires a research focus on innovation in connection with sustainability transitions, e.g. renewable energies. Research shall focus on the emergence of innovations in this empirical field (conceptually and empirically).
Areas of responsibility:
- conceptual and empirical research tasks in relation to the research project sketched above;
- collaboration with research projects and activities performed by the research group Organisation & Innovation, e.g. by providing content-related and methodological expertise;
- teaching bachelor and master courses at the Institute for Social Sciences; 4 weekly hours per semester.
Job requirements:
- an above-average academic degree (diploma or master) in a relevant field (social sciences, economic or business studies etc.) as well as an above-average PhD in a relevant field;
- a research focus on innovation and organisational research (alternatively in related topics such as technology studies or Science & Technology Studies); knowledge in transition research; empirical expertise in a relevant field (e. g. wind energy) will be an advantage;
- profound quantitative methodological skills and experience in quantitative analysis software (R, STATA);
- experience in qualitative empirical research, particularly case studies and interviews, including appropriate analysis software (e.g. MAXQDA) is desirable;
- a self-reliant, goal- and result-oriented working mode and scientific mindset;
- very good proficiency of English; knowledge of German is desirable; the candidate should at least be willing to learn German quickly.
