Working field:
The aim of the project „Peer Review: a field-comparative perspective” is to identify field-specific practices of peer review and to explain field-specific mechanisms of quality assessment. Case studies in six research fields are planned in order to explore the relationship between field-specific assessment practices and the corresponding everyday research practices.
Tasks include participation in the conceptual preparation, conduct and analysis of the planned empirical studies (observations, qualitative interviews, bibliometric analyses, qualitative content analyses). It is possible to develop your own dissertation topic based on the data collected in the empirical studies.

Requirements:
- successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a social sciences discipline with a focus on science studies, organisational sociology or professional sociology.
- Excellent English language skills; good command of German required; willingness to German is expected
- High degree of independence and commitment in the organisation and realisation of predominantly qualitative empirical studies
- Basic knowledge of bibliometric analyses is desirable.
