The University of Vienna seeks to fill the position of a University Assistant (prae doc) to work on political aspects of personalised medicine in the field of Comparative Policy Analysis and Qualitative Methods at the Department of Political Science. The duration of employment is 4 years (30 hours/week).
Tasks are: participation in research projects and research funding applications; participation in publications / academic articles / presentations; participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement; supervision of students; involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums; involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration. The candidate is expected to sign a doctoral thesis agreement (approval of PhD research proposal) within 12–18 months.
Job requirements include, among others: University Degree (Master, Diploma) in the study field Political Science or a similar discipline with relevance for Political Science; professional competences in the field of comparative analysis of politics or policy; interest in the political aspects of Personalised Medicine; good knowledge of qualitative methods; at least basic knowledge of quantitative methods; didactic competence; high ability to express yourself both orally and in writing.
