The University of Vienna seeks to fill the position of a University Assistant (post doc) to work on technologies and the future of work in the field of Comparative Policy Analysis and Qualitative Methods at the Department of Political Science. The duration of employment is 6 years (40 hours/week).
Tasks are: developing and strengthening your independent research profile; involvement in research projects; responsibility for project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding; international publications and presentations; preparing/writing a (publication-ready) habilitation thesis; independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement; supervision of students; participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance; involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.
Job requirements include, among others: Doctoral Degree (PhD or equivalent) in political science or another relevant social science or humanities discipline; very good knowledge of the field of political economy and/or labour sociology; interest in research on the future of work and labour, in particular in connection with processes of automation and information and/or interest in research using the concept of solidarity; good knowledge of qualitative methods of empirical social research required, knowledge of quantitative methods desirable; proven ability to publish in highly ranked international journals (peer reviewed according to the standards of the discipline); didactic skills; high ability to express yourself both orally and in writing.
