The Laboratory: Anthropology of Environment | Human Relations (Institute for European Ethnology, Humboldt University Berlin, formerly known as STS-Lab) invites you to join these winter semester’s sessions, starting on October 22nd:
We are looking forward to a winter of reading: ourselves and significant others. Texts are likely to be circulated in advance – often into smaller subgroups in order to avoid circulation of ‘work in progress’ into large email lists. If you are interested in particular sessions only, please do get in touch with the authors in advance to let them know you are planning on coming and to receive the relevant material. Here’s to a winter of productive discussions!
The Laboratory: Anthropology of Environment | Human Relations brings together like-minded scholars with an interest in ethnographically inquiring into and theorising how the multiple entanglements of material worlds and social practices shape the ways ‘we’ live our lives – or processes of socio-material ordering, if you will. Our members’ interests fall, broadly speaking, into two fields: Life sciences, medicine and medical technologies, psychiatry – sustainability, global land use, the role of modelling in human-environment systems, political ecology. The lab bridges the Institute of European Ethnology and the IRI THESys.
For an overview of all sessions see the complete program. For current information on upcoming sessions please subscribe to the lab’s mailing list.
